Where is the location of The Meadows Apartments?
The Meadows Apartments are located at 710 Spring St, less than 2 miles from downtown Darlington.
How many apartments are at The Meadows?
There are 32 apartment homes.
What bedroom sizes are available?
At The Meadows, there are 14 two-bedroom and 18 three-bedroom apartments.
How much is the rent?
Rent is determined based on the household income, up to the maximum rent amount allowed. Typically, our residents pay between $200 and $900 rent per month.
Where can I get an application?
Applications can be obtained via the website at www.darlingtonmeadows.com or picked up from our leasing office at 710 Spring Street. Our staff is on site on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 7:30pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Call 800-578-2270 to make an appointment.
How would I communicate with the manager if I am not comfortable speaking English?
Some members of our staff are bilingual English-Spanish. We can also use a phone translating service for other languages.
What is the process for qualification?
Once an application is received, our staff will determine income and program eligibility. If the application is deemed eligible, applicants will be contacted for additional information and verifications are sent out.
Are there any preferences or other requirements at the Meadows?
Yes, The Meadows Apartments are exclusively for farm workers and their families. The definition of agricultural worker includes any person who currently works or has retired from working on the production of agricultural (farm labor), or any of the five stages of an agriculture enterprise, such as: 1- cultivating the soil, raising or harvesting; 2- transportation of these goods; 3- post-harvest handling, storage, processing and packing; 4- delivery to market; and 5- market (wholesale and retail) of fresh commodity or food processing manufacturer.
Are there age restrictions?
No.
Can I qualify if some members of my household are illegal or undocumented?
You may be eligible under the Rural Development subsidized program if at least one member of your household is a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen. An eligible non-citizen includes a farm worker holding a H1-Visa, green-card, or employment authorization pending an asylum application.
What documents are necessary for processing my family application?
As part of our qualification process, all members of the household will need to be identified and our staff will ask for documents, such as social security card, driver license, and birth certificate for all minors. Non-eligible, non-citizens are also required to show a government issued identification from their country with photo.
Why do you require documents from non-eligible members of the household?
Our staff will ask for documents of identification to ensure that all persons residing in our community are law-abiding individuals. A criminal report is obtained for all adults residing at The Meadows.
Would receiving subsidy affect my pending asylum application?
If you are eligible to receive subsidy under the Rural Development program as a H1-Visa farm worker or holding a temporary asylum card, then you are acting within the law. Ask your immigration attorney for additional clarification.
Does The Meadows send my information to the Immigration Services (USCIS)?
No. The Meadows Apartments are a private company that offers rents subsidized by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-RD). We do not send any data to the Immigration Services.
How is my rent calculated?
There are two main parts of calculating your rent portion. First is the total household income; second is how many household members are eligible for receiving subsidy. If all members are eligible, after calculating the income and deducting any allowances, your rent will be 30% of your adjusted income.
Will the Meadows offer social services or resident events?
Yes, The Meadows will offer some social services in partnership with SWCAP – Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program. Information on social services and resident’s events will be provided on our monthly newsletters.

¿Cul es el proceso de calificacin?
Una vez que se recibe una aplicacin, nuestro personal determinara los ingresos y la elegibilidad del programa. Si la aplicacin se considera elegible, los solicitantes sern contactados para informacin adicional y se enviarn verificaciones.
¿Hay alguna preferencia u otro requisito para The Meadows?

¿Hay restricciones de edad?

¿Puede calificar si algunos miembros de mi hogar son indocumentados?
Usted puede ser elegible bajo los programas subsidiados de Desarrollo Rural siempre y cuando que la cabeza del hogar de la familia sea un ciudadano o un no ciudadano elegible. Un no ciudadano elegible incluye un trabajador/a agrcola que tenga una Visa-H1, tarjeta verde o autorizacin de empleo pendiente de una solicitud de asilo.
